HEC Prime Minister PM Laptop Scheme 2024 Online Registration

A schedule has been announced for the Prime Minister PM Laptop Scheme online registration here. June 20, is the application deadline. You can apply online at https://laptop.pmyp.gov.pk/ for the PM Youth Program.

Laptop Scheme Online Apply In Pakistan

The Government of Pakistan revived the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme as part of its PM Youth Program. A total of 1 Lac laptops will be distributed. Youth Affairs Special Assistant to Prime Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja announced this.

Students can keep studying online and explore online employment opportunities worldwide with the Laptop Scheme, says Shaza Fatima.

PM Laptop Scheme Eligible Universities

Studying at HEC-accredited public sector universities or degree-granting institutions. There will be a list or link.

PM Laptop Scheme Eligibility Criteria

The following table shows students who enrolled no earlier than the program duration:

  • The CNIC/B-Form must be valid.
  • As of December 31, 2022, the application closing date, be a student.

Until December 31, 2022, but not earlier than their respective program durations:

Students recognized by HEC from universities or awarding institutions (excluding distance learning).

  • In 18-year Ph.D./ MS/ MPhil programs or equivalent.
  • Degree program that takes 4 or 5 years (mornings and evenings).
  • Three-year, 2.5-year, and 1.5-year MBA students.

Ineligible Of HEC Laptop Scheme

  • Students enrolled at private higher education institutions (HEIs).
  • A student enrolled at an accredited government college or school.
  • Federal or provincial government-sponsored students who already have laptops.
  • Students from AJK, except for foreign nationals.
  • Those not identified by the Steering/Technical Committee or not meeting eligibility criteria.
  • The student’s application has yet to be received through the online portal if they have not applied online.
  • Also, at the time of distribution, laptop eligibility will be determined. Failure to provide required documentation or proof of academic performance will result in a laptop not being awarded.
  • Those who have graduated from their degree programs will receive laptops.

Laptop Distribution Selection Criteria

  • HEC’s online portal allows students to apply for admission (before the deadline), and the system will filter out ineligible students.
  • On the student’s online focal person account, the Department Focal Person should verify the student’s Name, CNIC, Department, Degree Level, and Last Exam Percentage.
  • In charge of verification is the University Focal Person.
  • The student’s data will be updated/edited if there is a discrepancy in the data obtained from the Institute or the students themselves.
  • Student applications may be disapproved, verified or corrected by the focal person.
  • As outlined in eligibility and merit criteria, each Institute will receive its share of laptops.
  • After HEC has verified each University, the automated process will run on the system to generate merit lists.
  • Afterward, HEC will share the provisional merit list among the institutes for their cross-checking, and institutes will respond within 15 days.
  • The final merit list will be shared among the Institutes after HEC removes discrepancies from the provisional merit list.
  • A timeline for the distribution of the final merit list must be displayed on the Institute’s notice board, website, or social media.
  • Individual merit statuses will be available online to the public and students.

How To Apply Online For Prime Minister PM Laptop Scheme ?

Criteria for distribution are as follows:

  • Students will be provided with laptops based on their academic performance (Ph.D., MS/M.Phil., and 16-year education).
  • The university share will be complemented by degree program laptop quotas (i.e., University, Campus, Degree Program, and Department).
  • Balochistan Higher Educational Institutes have been allocated 14% (14,000 Laptops) by the PM office. Under this allocated quota, Balochistan’s accredited universities can enroll.
  • Public-sector HEIs will receive the remaining 86,000 laptops based on their enrollment preferences.
