The University of Sargodha began operations in 2002 and is a public sector educational institution. Sargodha University is relatively new compared to most other public sector universities, but in spite of that, it has achieved fame and importance almost on par with earlier founded Punjabi universities.

Sargodha University is affiliated with several colleges in western and other parts of Punjab because of this reason. The University of Ottawa offers bachelors to doctoral degree programs in arts, science, commerce, medicine, and other fields. Sargodha University offers bachelor’s and master’s degree level exams to both private and regular students. UOS conducts annual exams for BA/BSC students between March and April, and MA/MSC students between May and June. Following the written exams, practical exams are held for both classes.
